VELD has won the tender organized by Team Vlaams Bouwmeester and the town of Zele to design a spatial development strategy for the brownfield Lange Akker in Zele!
VELD will lead the design team in collaboration with Atelier Horizon, Osmos and Bruxistenz.
VELD presented to and discussed with the inhabitants of Herne their spatial strategy for the redevelopment of the Markevalleisite and public spaces within the town center of Herne.
The event was co-organized with Endeavour within the vacant building of the historical town hall, which will be refurbished as an art academy for Herne, one of the main strategic interventions of the masterplan.
At the end of december Bruno Vanhaesebrouck, partner at VELD, joined the jury of the design studio BA1 at the Faculty of La Cambre - Horta of the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Starting from 2020 Bruno will be co-teaching a design studio at the bachelor students in architecture at the same university.

VELD has been shortlisted by Brussels Bouwmeester Maître Architecte and the town of Anderlecht to design a masterplan for the redevelopment of the public spaces in the neighborhood of Peterbos in Anderlecht.
Atelier Horizon leads the design team as landscape architects in collaboration with Arcadis, Yves Hubert and VELD.
VELD wins the competition WinVorm SW1901 'Masterplan Vroonhofsite' for the City of Poperinge in the Region of West-Vlaanderen.
The masterplan consists of the redevelopment of a former school campus in the historical city center of Poperinge into a mixed use city block including the city's art academy and theater as well as additional public facilities.
VELD leads the design team including Taktyk, landscape architects, LeVuur, expert in public participation, PDG, expert in real estate, and Traject, consultant in mobility.

Masterplan for the Vroonhofsite in the historical city center of Poperinge.
During the 2nd week of February, Bruno Vanhaesebrouck guided the master-1 students during the workshop "Fabriquer et Représenter les Grands Territoires" at Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville.
The urban design workshop focused this year on the potential redevelopment of public space between the Porte de la Chapelle and the national stadium "Stade de France", a territory in the Northern suburbs of Paris in full mutation due to supranational projects such as the Olympic Games 2024 and the construction of the Grand Paris Express. The same territory is also one of the main listed areas of QPV "Quartiers Politique de la Ville" prioritizing neighborhoods confronted with important social and economic difficulty.
Bruno invited researcher Julie Marin of KU Leuven to co-teach during this workshop. She also presented her research regarding circular economy in urban design projects in Flanders during the workshop.
